We Are Open - Essential Business

Monday, March 23, 2020

On March 22, 2020, the State of Ohio Department of Health issued a Director’s Stay at Home Order for all residents of the State of Ohio.  This order states that “All Persons Stay at Home Unless Engaged in Essential Work or Activity”.  This order goes in affect at the end of the day on March 23, 2020.

According to this document, in paragraph 12. Essential Business and Operations, Section v. Manufacture, distribution, and supply chain for critical products and industries.  Manufacturing companies distributors and supply chain companies producing and suppling essential products and services in and for industries such as pharmaceutical, technology, biotechnology, healthcare, chemicals and sanitization, waste pickup and disposal, agriculture, food and beverage, transportation, energy, steel and steel products, petroleum and fuel, mining, construction, national defense, communications, as well as products used by other Essential Business and Operations.

Richard’s Fence qualifies as an Essential Business by suppling and manufacturing steel and steel products for construction and national defense

I have had several calls asking if fence installation companies were also classified as Essential Business.  In paragraph 12. Essential Business and Operations, Section k. Critical trades. Building and Construction Tradesmen and Tradeswomen … service providers who provide service that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operations of residences, Essential Activities, and Essential Businesses and Operations.

If you are installing fences to maintain safety for residences or for businesses that are Essential along with any security installation, then I would consider that to be Essential.  You may want to interpret this for yourself or contact a representative from the State of Ohio.  You can read the order at; https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/OHOOD/2020/03/22/file_attachments/1407840/Stay%20Home%20Order.pdf
